Maria Carolina Soares Fraga

Chef at Bunge Professional Academy

“At Bunge, I'm able to put my passion into practice every single day.”  

Maria Carolina brings her passion for baking and confectionery to work as a chef at the Bunge Professional Academy, a technical improvement center dedicated to elevating our customers' businesses. Her work extends far beyond the kitchen, as she develops innovative recipes, teaches comprehensive courses on the appropriate applications of Bunge's diverse flour portfolio, and manages course scheduling and certification. Through her work at the academy, Carolina’s fulfilled a longtime dream of launching her own recipe book – a carefully curated compilation of original confectionery recipes shared with our customers and featured across Bunge’s professional platforms. Carolina is doing much more than teaching culinary techniques; she’s empowering our customers to succeed.  

Byron Gerard Grow, Jr.

Lead Supervisor Production 
Destrehan, Louisiana, USA | Joined Bunge in 1992 

Byron Gerard Grow, Jr. shapes a work culture in which operators develop skills, gain confidence and become capable leaders. His approach fosters genuine trust and safety, making sure his team feels heard, respected and supported in bringing ideas and concerns forward. Agriculture runs in Byron's blood, he says, as his father worked for Bunge for more than 30 years. After serving as a power plant operator in the United States Air Force, Byron felt it was destiny to begin his career at Bunge’s oilseed processing plant at Destrehan, where he remains captivated by the transformation of seeds to oils and other products that feed the world. A passionate mentor, Byron is developing Bunge’s new hires into quality operators and great teachers, continuing his commitment to excellence and care. 

Iryna Taran

Sr. Director, Origination, Europe  
Rotterdam, Netherlands | Joined Bunge in 2014 

In her role as senior director of origination for Europe, Iryna Taran relies on a deep understanding of the agricultural supply chain to provide the highest level of service for our farmers. She supports origination efforts across the region to build high-value relationships with producers, strengthen strategy, and equip teams with the tools and insights needed to succeed. Iryna helps drive progress in Bunge’s origination program in Europe, developing solutions and leveraging digital engagement tools that create value for farmers, while ensuring our supply chains remain innovative, sustainable and globally aligned. 

Deivson Adolpho da Silva

Production Manager 
Belém, Brazil | Joined Bunge in 2011 

With more than a decade of experience at Bunge, Deivson Adolpho da Silva has built an impressive career across several regions of Brazil. As production manager at the Belém wheat mill, he oversees critical production operations, bringing expertise shaped by different operational environments. “My work has real impact on people’s daily lives. In the food sector, quality and safety are non-negotiable.” This perspective fuels Deivson’s commitment to continuous improvement, as he’s witnessed how Bunge combines its global purpose with a culture of safety, ethics and operational excellence – principles that guide every decision on the mill floor. What keeps Deivson motivated is working for a company that genuinely values its people and invests in professional development. 

Vinita Acharya

Edible Oil Trader 
Mumbai, India | Joined Bunge in 2019

For Vinita Acharya, this philosophy underpins her work in risk management and procurement for Bunge’s palm, soybean, and sunflower oil requirements for all business units in India. In her current role, Vinita monitors global and domestic market dynamics to mitigate risk and takes commercial decisions that directly impact Bunge’s competitiveness and performance. As one of few female traders in the Indian agriculture and edible oil industry, Vinita has earned two internal awards for securing competitive supply and delivering strong financial performance, even amid market uncertainty. 

Turf Li

Global Customers Manager, Bunge Food Solutions   
Shanghai, China | Joined Bunge in 2020 

Turf Li serves some of Bunge’s core global customers by identifying solutions that address real business challenges. When a major account faced mounting cost pressures from commodity volatility, Turf partnered with Bunge’s Research & Development and Procurement teams to develop an alternative ingredient solution that resolved technical constraints while dramatically reducing production costs. His genuine curiosity about customer needs, combined with his ability to listen deeply, ask the right questions, and collaborate effectively, showcases Bunge’s technical depth and ability to transform potential obstacles into considerable value for clients. For Turf, sustainable business success hinges on strong relationships built on mutual understanding and trust. 

Kathy Malone

Director Trade Execution North America 
Omaha, Nebraska, USA | Joined Bunge in 2019 

Kathy Malone oversees numerous aspects of Bunge’s North American export trade execution and domestic trade operations, a position that sits at the intersection of policy, regulation, and innovation. She’s motivated by improving process efficiencies and partnering across Bunge to identify and support meaningful change in an industry evolving through digital innovation and market shifts. Kathy also serves on the Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA) council, which has enabled her to make a direct contribution to the important role GAFTA plays in promoting international trade, as well as represent Bunge as a member company. For Kathy and her team, success is about celebrating the small wins and the people who are shaping the future of feeding the world. 

Marcos Quaine

Sr. Sustainability Manager South Cone 
Buenos Aires, Argentina | Joined Bunge in 2023 

Marcos Quaine leads the integration of sustainability across Bunge’s value chain, ensuring business growth is environmentally responsible, socially sound and commercially competitive. He maximizes sustainable initiatives across countries to deliver low-carbon, fully traceable products for Food, Feed and Fuel markets, positioning Bunge as the partner of choice to help customers meet their sustainability commitments. For Marcos, sustainability strengthens customer trust, creates tangible value for the industry and is a strategic driver of value creation and market access, not just compliance. 

Szimonetta Tóth

Analytical Innovation Engineer, Research & Development Center 
Budapest, Hungary | Joined Bunge in 2023 

Szimonetta Toth supports customers with digital growth strategies and manages Industry 4.0 and IT projects involving process control equipment, installation, calibration and troubleshooting across Bunge plants. Szimonetta recognizes the true impact the quality of food has on people. As a bioengineer specialized in food technology, she brings specialized expertise to her work, which ultimately leads to creating the best quality ingredients. This responsibility fuels her commitment to continuous improvement and innovation at Bunge, and her people-oriented approach means she values the connections with colleagues. She recognizes that growth happens together through shared learning and support. 

Alex Salter

Pest Control Planner Western Region, South Australia 
Port Lincoln, Australia | Joined Bunge in 2016 

Alex Salter is working on the front lines of Bunge’s grain protection efforts. Today he oversees Bunge’s fumigation operations across a 400-km radius within South Australia’s Western Region, ensuring compliance with company procedures to manage bird control, rodent control and weed control initiatives. He also trains new pest control workers to become leaders in fumigation as he builds a skilled team committed to commodity protection. By preventing insect damage to grain stocks destined for human and livestock consumption, he plays a key role in food and feed supply chains for Bunge and our customers. Alex leverages his professional network of respected professionals who shape operational excellence to bring insights and learnings back to his team to keep Bunge at the leading edge of grain protection.  

Luciene Ruzzarin

Director of Solutions & Services for South America 
São Paulo, Brazil | joined Bunge in 2016 

As Director of Solutions & Services for South America, Luciene Ruzzarin is the primary point of contact for Business Technology in the region. Together with a committed and experienced team, she partners closely with Bunge’s business units to deliver and evolve a broad portfolio of critical applications, providing solutions to a high volume of complex requirements within a highly regulated environment. She thrives in Bunge’s fast paced and creative atmosphere and is proud to leverage her technology expertise to contribute to an essential, sustainability driven organization.
